Psalm18 (part 1)

 Psalm 18 ( part 1)

Yippee God, way to go! I love You so much, my strong, immovable, warrior God.  I trust You. My shield, salvation, stronghold.  You are there when I call for You, rescuing me from my enemies.

Death crept close, and I was terrified that I was sinking in a sea of evil.  I was depressed and deathly thoughts were lurking.  In my distress I called to the Lord.  I cried out to God and He heard my voice - my cry made its way to His ears.   Then the earth shook - earthquakes and shaking because He was angry, smoke and fire from volcanos.  The skies came down to the ground as He descended in darkness.  Winds raged.  He wore the stormy waters like a cape.  Hailstones, thick clouds and coals of fire.  Thunder as He spoke.  Hail and fire, lightning like arrows sent by Him to scatter the enemy.  The very foundations of the earth were laid bare at Your rebuke Lord.

He sent from above: He took me: He lifted me out of the raging stormy sea and delivered me from my enemy and from those who hated me, from those who were too strong for me.  They came to get me on that worst day of my life but God was there for me.  He took me and led me to a broad place - He rescued me because He loves me.

The Lord rewarded me because I have done the right thing.  He has rewarded me  because I have kept myself free from sin.  I have kept His commandments and haven't strayed from His ways.  I have remembered His laws and have been a good and godly man therefore the Lord has rewarded me. Because I have kept away from sin

God will be kind to those who are kind.  He will deal with us as we deal with others - so where I have been righteous with others He will be righteous with me, where I have been pure, He will be pure.  He will save the humble but bring down the haughty.
