 Psalm 17

Im a good and godly man who stands in your presence and is waiting for Your justice.  .You can see that I am right with You.  You have tested my heart, You have visited me in the night.  You have set me tests which I have passed.  I have decided that my mouth wont go the way of the world and Ive managed to keep myself on the right path by following Your instructions.  Please keep me walking in Your ways and don't let my feet slip.  I have called out to You and you will hear me God.  Turn towards me and hear what I'm saying.  Show me your marvellous loving kindness because You are a God who saves those who trust in You and rescues them from their enemies.

Keep me as the apple of Your eye.  Hide me under the shadow of Your wings.  Hide me from the wicked who opress me and my deadly enemies who surround me.

My greedy, selfish enemies have closed up their selfish hearts: they are arrogant and proud.  They are out to get me like young lions lying in wait for their prey.  Rise up O Lord.  Deal with my enemy and smack him down.  Get out Your sword and deal him a death blow. People are happy with their lives in this temporal world, thinking that as long as they have children to whom they can pass on an inheritance then that's all there is to it.  But as for me, it is so much more important to see Your face in righteousness and my goal is to be like You in every way - only then shall I be truly happy.

   Psalm 135 Praise the Lord.  Praise His name everyone.  All who stand in the house of the Lord and in the outer courts of His temple.  Praise Him because He is good.  SIng praise to Him simply because it is fun to do!  Because He has chosen us - we are His special treasure.  I know that God is fantastic, above all other gods.  He does whatever seems good to Him in the heavens and on the earth, in the deepest parts of the sea and high above the earth's atmosphere.  He makes the lightning in the rainstorms and lets the wind out of its hiding place. He gathers all those who are on the edges and brings them in. He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.
