 Psalm 18 ( part 2)

You will shed light on everything.  The Lord will enlighten the darkness.  Because with You I can face an army - with Your strength indwelling me I can leap over the obstacles I'm facing.  Gods way is perfect.  His word can be trusted.  He is a shield to all who trust Him.  There is no other God except our Lord.  Who else has a God like ours?  A rock - strong and immovable.  He makes sure that I'm walking in His perfect way.  Even if He's taking me over high and difficult mountain tops He makes sure I'm ready and equipped.  He teaches me how to use the weapons He has given me.  And He has also given me a protective shield - my salvation.  Your right hand has reached out to grab me when Ive been unsure and Your gentleness has made me great.  You have widened the path under my feet so that they didnt slip.

Because of this Ive been able to pursue my enemies and overtake them - I didn't turn for home until they were destroyed, fatally wounded at my feet.  Because You have given me strength for this battle and actually its You who has subdued those who have risen up against me.  You have given me the lives of my enemies so that I was able to destroy those who hated me.  They cried out, but there was no-one to save them.  They even cried to the Lord but He didn't answer them.  And I beat them into the ground.

You have saved me from the struggles of the people and made me the head of the nations.  People who are not my people shall serve me - the very mention of my name causes them to bow down.  Strangers fear me.

The Lord lives!  I shall bless His name and exalt the God who saved me.  It's all because of Him and I will never forget to thank you for giving me victory over my enemies.  I will sing and thank you O Lord even among the gentiles.  You have shown mercy to David, Your anointed king, and to his descendants for ever more.

   Psalm 135 Praise the Lord.  Praise His name everyone.  All who stand in the house of the Lord and in the outer courts of His temple.  Praise Him because He is good.  SIng praise to Him simply because it is fun to do!  Because He has chosen us - we are His special treasure.  I know that God is fantastic, above all other gods.  He does whatever seems good to Him in the heavens and on the earth, in the deepest parts of the sea and high above the earth's atmosphere.  He makes the lightning in the rainstorms and lets the wind out of its hiding place.
