  Psalm 14 Its just stupid to say ' God doesnt exist'  That sort of thinking leads to corruption and evil deeds and its led the world into the state its in now where no one is good.  And God looks down from heaven to see how many are looking for Him, how many are really desperate to understand.  But they have all been distracted.  They've all joined the rat race, been swept along on a tide of collective godlessness.  He cant find a single good and godly man.  Dont these God despisers understand anything?  They think they can chew up God's people and spit them out again but they should watch out.  Because God is with the generation of the righteous.  They might ridicule the opinions of the poor but God is looking out for the poor and is sheltering them.   Psalm 13 Lord Im fed up with asking.  Fed up with looking for You and not finding You.  Sick of feeling sorry for myself and being trampled into the dirt.  Listen to me this time Lord. I need revelation or Im going to die here and my enemy will think he has won - he will laugh at my undoing. But do you know what? I have always been able to trust in Your kindness before.  I know I am saved and I can be glad about that too. So I shall sing to the lord because despite everything and regardless of what things look like just now, He HAS been good to me!

  Psalm 12 Aaarrrrgh!  Whats happened to good and godly people? where have they gone? Its all flattery and gossip and hypocrasy.  Oh God I wish You would get rid of those lying tongues and flattering lips - those who say ' we have rights, we are in control. Nobody can tell us what to do!' 'But Im coming' says the Lord  'because I see the opression of the poor and I hear the cries of the needy and Im going to give them the saftey they have been yearning for' Gods words are pure - like solid silver, tried and tested seven times.  Yes Lord You will protect and save them from this generation forever.  Wickedness prowls around whenever people enjoy and promote vile, unclean and unholy things.

  Psalm 11  I trust the Lord They say:  ' you'd better hide cos the wicked are out to get you.  They will get to your heart and once the foundation of your life, your heart, is destroyed, then there's no hope for you' I say:   The Lord is in charge.  He sees it all.  He hates wickedness and He will judge it with burning coals, fire and brimstone and a burning wind.  Because God is holy and righteous.  He loves good and godly men and He smiles on them.

  Psalm 9 I will give You all Ive got Lord, I'll praise You and tell of all the amazing things You've done, happily, singing for joy O Most High When my enemies look round they will fall in Your presence and be wiped out because You have been on my side.  You have judged rightly and have held the nations to account, destroying wickedness and blotting out the names of despots and evildoers forever. Yes my enemy, your destructive work is over and done!  You may have destroyed cities from the face of the earth but God is everlasting.  He has a throne of judgement ready to judge the world and He shall administer that justice fairly for all people.  He will also be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.   Psalm 10 So Im wondering Lord, why it is You seem to have disappeared.  Things get tough and You suddenly arent there. People are persecuting the poor, boasting about all the things they are going to achieve, blessing the greedy and renouncing the Lord.  The wicked man doesnt look for You - God is the last thing on his mind.  He is doing well for himself and the fact that one day he is going to be judged by You has never entered his thinking.  he looks around him at those people and things which might stand in his way and he thinks ' Ha, no problem. Im pretty much invincible'   he doesnt care who he curses.  He is full of lies and oppression and his words are nothing but trouble and evil.   He lurks on street corners, secretly murdering innocient people, looking out helpless ones.  Like a lion lying in wait to catch the poor.  Luring them into his net.  He lies low and waits until the helpless cant fight any longer then ...

  Psalm 8 Oh Lord, our fantastic God, You are the best in the world, greatest in the universe.  Even the praise of infants and children is powerful enough to silence the enemy.  And when I look out into space, at the moon and the stars which You made and set in place, I wonder why You would ever even bother to consider me - let alone come to live with me.  You have made men spiritual beings, just marginally lower in the spiritual order than angels, but you have crowned mankind with salvation glory that the angels can only dream about.  You have put mankind in control over everything You have made - sheep and cattle, wild animals, birds and fish - its all under our control.  Oh Lord, our fantastic God - You are the best in the world!

  Psalm 7 Lord, Im deciding to trust You.  Save me from those who are out to get me - because if You dont then they will rip me to shreds.  Oh God, if there is any fault on my part - if they have any good reason to be after me, if I have picked a fight with someone who was looking to mke peace or if I have taken anything that wasnt mine then You can let them catch me and deal with me.  yes, You can let them trample me into the ground and  lay my reputation in the dirt. Rise up O Lord in Your anger.  Stir Yourself Lord as You see the force of the rage my enemy is exerting against me and execute judgement.  you know Ive been righteous and that I have displayed integrity.   So let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end and establish the good and godly man - only You Lord know peoples hearts and minds.  You are my protector because You know my heart and You reach out to rescue the good and godly man. God is a just judge and He is angry ...

psalm 6 Please dont be cross with me Lord.  Dont punish me.  Be merciful because Im weak and pathetic.  Please heal me Lord because my bones are sore.  And my heart is sore as well.  And You Lord........how long?  Please come back to me Lord and help me.  Please rescue me in Your goodness.  If I dont make it through this, then whats the point?  If I dont survive then who is going to get the glory?  My grave wont be a great testimony to Your goodness will it?   Ps 5 Please listen to me Lord when I pray to you in the morning.  I will look up not down - i will focus on You  Who has no trace of evil in You and takes no pleasure in wickedness.  You hate the proud and arrogant, liars and violent men - in fact everyone who is evil.  But as for me, I will come directly into Your presence and stand under the fountain of Your mercy.  I will worship You in this holy place with great respect.  Lead me Lord to do good and godly things and show me the way to go so that I can see it clearly.   I have enemies who cant speak truth, whose words are poisonous and whose motivations are deathly.  Deal with them God, let them be judged in the way they judge others, cast them out because they have rebelled against You.   but let those who trust in You rejoice, shout for joy, be always and ever joyful.  Because You will bless the good and godly man Lord and will surround him with favour like a s...

  psalm 4 Hear me when I speak Lord,  You who are the source of anything good in me.  You have heard me before when I was in trouble, so please be kind to me now and hear my prayer. People are trying to attack my reputation, they love what is worthless and are attracted to lies.  But God has set apart for Himself the good and godly man and so The Lord will hear me when I call to Him. You can be angry, but don't sin.  Meditate at night time and be still.  Let your goodness be a sacrifce to God and put your trust in Him.   People will say ' everything is crap and there is no God'  Lord please smile on us.  You have put gladness in my heart, so much more than Ive ever experienced through any fine food or great wine.  I will lie down in peace and I will sleep for You alone Lord ensure that I am living in complete security and safety.

Psalm 3 Lord, where did they all come from?  There are loads of them, all after me, trying to bring me down.  Saying '  ha!  His God cant help him!'   But they are wrong Lord because You are a shield around me.  You are the One who makes me glorious, who lifts up my head when I am weighed down with trouble.   I cried to the Lord, shouted out to Him and He heard me from His holy hill.  ( Just stop and think about that for a moment) Despite the war that is raging around me and the people that are out to get me I was able to lie down and sleep peacefully because God kept His hand on me.  I dont need to be afraid - even if ten thousand people surround me baying for my blood.   Psalm 1 If you want to know God’s favour then don’t listen to the lies, Don’t do the wrong thing Don’t get above yourself If you want to know the favour of God then listen to Him and do what He tells you to do Then you will be like a tree planted by a river, growing and bearing fruit, not suffering in times of dryness Being sucessful in all you do. Those who don’t know God’s favour are like chaff blown away in the wind – they cant stand in the face of the wind of the Spirit, in the presence of good and godly people.  Because God knows everything – He sees it all.  And the ungodly man isnt going to make it.
